Information Presentation Facility
IPF is the abbreviation for Information Presentation Facility from IBM. It is an SGML markup to create online Help files for the operating system OS / 2 From the corresponding source files are generated by a compiler ( IPFC ) binary help files ( HLP) or online books (INF).
History
IPF and INF were first used in 1989 for the online help of the operating system OS / 2 1.2. The IBM PC-DOS recent issues also use the INF format for help.

The compiler ( IPFC ) is delivered with the development environment ( Developer's Toolkit ) to OS / 2. In addition, various tools for the transformation of foreign formats exist.
