Ingeborg Mello

Ingeborg de Mello Preiss ( born January 4, 1919 in Germany, † 25 October 2009 in Buenos Aires ) was an Argentine athlete who was successful in the shot put and discus throw. She won two gold medals at Pan American Games and fifteen medals at South championships, including seven gold medals.

Career

Born in Germany Ingeborg Mello came at the age of 19 years to Argentina. She won 1940-1962 in the three throwing events 22 national champion. Your last appearance at the national championships they had in 1969, when she was fourth in the shot put again.

In the South Championships, she won her first title in 1941 with the ball. 1947, 1949 and 1952, she won both the titles in the shot put and discus throw.
