Innocenzo di Pietro Francucci da Imola

Innocenzo Francucci (* 1490-1494 in Imola, † 1547-1550 in Bologna; occasionally Innocenzo da Imola ) was an Italian painter.

Francucci was the son of the master goldsmith Pietro Francucci. With about twenty years Francucci 1508 in Bologna pupil of Francesco Francia; generously supported by a grant from the Council of his hometown. On the recommendation Francia Francucci later moved to Florence in the studio of Mariotto Albertinelli. From this period also date Francuccis remarkable copies of Raphael.

Francucci lived and worked almost exclusively in Bologna. As his main disciples Prospero Fontana and Francesco Primatice be mentioned.

At the age of 50 years the painter Innocenzo Francucci died 1547-1550 in Bologna.

Panel paintings by the artist are in museums in Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich and Saint Petersburg.
