Inspector Gadget

Inspector Gadget is an animated television series about a clumsy, absent-minded and oblivious police inspector who hunts criminals using all kinds of technical equipment.

Content

Inspector Gadget is a cyborg with various built into his body and his clothes devices, so-called gadgets. His main opponent is the leader of the organization MAD, the mysterious and always by his cat ( which he calls " MAD Cat" ) accompanied Dr. Claw. It is mostly his clever niece Sophie, who helps the bumbling Inspector with the help of her computer book again and again out of trouble and makes sure that her uncle again at the end of which bears the victory over the evil Dr. Claw. The main sufferer of Inspector Gadgets clumsiness remains Sophie's dog Fino ( ' Brain ' in the English version ), who spies on the robot-like investigators in his cases to get along with Sophie to help him again and again from the terminal.

The gadgets

Gadget solves most functions with the command " Go-Go - Gadget -o ... " from.

  • Legs / arms / neck: All these body parts such as telescopes can be extended.

Production and publication

The series was produced from 1983 to 1986 by the company DiC Entertainment, France 3, LBS Communications, Nelvana, Tokyo Movie Shinsha and Cuckoo 's Nest Studio. Was directed by Dave Cox, Edouard David, Raymond Jafelice and Ken Stephenson. The music was composed by Shuki Levy. The series was first broadcast in the U.S. on 10 September 1983 to February 1, 1986.

Inspector Gadget has been translated into Polish, among others, French, Korean and Italian. The German version was first broadcast on January 3, 1988 by RTLplus. Later repetitions followed by ProSieben, Fox Kids, Sat.1, Super RTL and ORF1.

The first 12 episodes of the series were published in 2004 on 4 individual DVDs, but these are now sold out. On 19 March 2010, a new 10- DVD box set of the complete first season was released ( the episodes 1 to 65 ) with no age restriction.

Voice Actors

The German dubbed version of the series was produced at the Alster Studios. Synchronous directed by Wolfgang Draeger, who also wrote the dialogue books to the series.

Movies

An adaptation of the series was produced in 1999 by Disney under the title of Inspector Gadget. Due to the success of the film a sequel was produced under the title of Inspector Gadget 2 2003. This was abandoned, however it to oblige the actor from part 1 again and replaced the entire tribe.

As early as 1992 a series Special was titled Inspector Gadget Saves Christmas produced. Due to the resurgent popularity of the series DiC produced the 2002 film Inspector Gadgets last case, which is intended to represent the final of the animated series. However, some improvements have been carried out ( a 14 -year-old Sophie, known in the film as Penny, and also a talking gadget mobile like in the movies ).

Under the title of Inspector Gadget - Mission pterosaur was created in 2005 to date, the last movie about the series. The film is to be regarded as a kind of sequel to Inspector gadget last case, as Penny in this movie is already 16 and gadget in this case was finally able to arrest Dr. Claw.

Spin-Offs

The produced in 1995 series is about a much younger Inspector Gadget, Gadget Boy called, his partner Heather and his robo- dog G- ninth His opponent is Spydra, a six -armed criminal hiding her face behind a mask always. Instead, travels in an animated Inspector Gadget in live action at different places and tells the viewers specific information about the places visited. 50 episodes á 25 minutes were produced.
