Intel 8284
The Intel 8284 is an oscillator chip, is designed for Intel-8086/8087/8088/8089-Prozessoren. The block is supplied in 18 -pin DIP. He was licensed to, inter alia, the NEC and Siemens.
It consists of a clock generator and an additional logic for the READY / RESET control. It has been used for the first computer (IBM PC, and the IBM PC XT). In the IBM PC AT successor is used 82284.
