Inter-Access Point Protocol

The IEEE standard 802.11f of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE ) is an adopted in June 2003, extension of the wireless LAN standards IEEE 802.11 and provides for procedures for the clients roam between different access points after the Inter Access Point Protocol (IAPP ) ago.

Using IEEE 802.11f it is possible to change its location on the range of a single access point's within a large wireless network. Roaming means that the network connection without termination of an access point passes to the other.

This standard was withdrawn in 2006.
