InterContinental Hotels Group plc is an English company headquartered in Denham (near London). The largest corporate division is the Holiday Inn hotel chain.

With more than 4,500 hotels in nearly 100 countries and more than 672,000 rooms, the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG ) is one of the largest hotel chains in the world. As of July 2012, the group operates the following brands or houses:

  • Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts - 389 high standard for business
  • Hotel Indigo - 44 upscale boutique hotels
  • Staybridge Suites - 181 upscale apartment hotels
  • Candlewood Suites - 284 middle-class apartment hotels
  • Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts - 1234 mid-range hotels
  • Holiday Inn Express - 2133 mid-range hotels with limited service offering

Furthermore, with HUALUXE Hotels & Resorts and EVEN hotels two new brands for the Chinese luxury segment or with orientation on health and environmental aspects in planning.

The portfolio of IHG in Germany includes 71 hotels, including four of the brand, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza six, as well as several Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express. The InterContinental in Hamburg was the end of January 2013 closed.

History

The Holiday Inn hotels provide with nearly 1,350 hotels ( almost 400 more are planned ) and almost 250,000 beds for the largest share. The majority of these hotels is run as a franchise operation, that is, they are performed independently using the brand name and distribution system.

At InterContinental Hotels Group also includes the British drinks manufacturer Britvic (produced, for example Tango).

InterContinental Hotels Group maintains the world's first and largest hotel loyalty program: Priority Club. Priority Club is the world consists of more than 69 million members per stay between 2,000 and 3,000 points accumulate in the hotels of the InterContinental brand - for stays in hotels of different brands of points depending on the amount of the total bill.
