International Billiards and Snooker Federation
The International Billiards & Snooker Federation ( IBSF short ) is the world 's governing body for amateur in the billiards variants Snooker and English Billiards. The IBSF was founded in 1971 as the World Billiards & Snooker Council and renamed in 1973 in International Billiards & Snooker Federation. She is the snooker division of the World Confederation of Billiard Sports ( WCBS ). President Pascal Guillaume.
Objectives and tasks
The IBSF coordinate and market English Billiards and Snooker at amateur level. In addition, it decides on conditions, expiration, dates and venues for the following sports events:
- IBSF World Snooker Championships Men
- IBSF World Snooker Championships U21
- IBSF World Snooker Championships Ladies
- IBSF World Snooker Championships Seniors
- IBSF World Snooker Team Cup
- IBSF World Billiards Championships English
These tournaments are held annually by the IBSF usually. The definition of an amateur is aligned by the IBSF the world 's governing body of snooker pros World Snooker Association ( WSA), according to which all players are eligible to IBSF World Championships, which participants of ESC Snooker Main Tour are not in the appropriate season.
