International Commission of Jurists

The International Commission of Jurists (English International Commission of Jurists, ICJ ) is a non-governmental organization (NGO ) based in Geneva. Members of the Commission also visit lawsuits all over the world and check this. Proportionality with international law

The ICJ was established in 1952 in Berlin on the occasion of the commission of inquiry Freiheitlicher lawyers organized the International Lawyers' Congress. It consists of 60 leading international and human rights experts from around the world. ICJ has over 97 national sections and affiliated legal organizations in 70 countries. It is one of the most prestigious international legal organizations. Its members include higher judiciary officials from Australia, Canada, South Africa and the former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mary Robinson.

The ICJ published opinions on the questions of international law and issues, such as the interpretation of the conditions laid down in the UN Charter general prohibition of force, self-defense against an armed attack, position on the resolutions of the Security Council (Institution, United Nations).

Prices

The Commission of Jurists has received since its inception awarded prestigious awards.

The Committee of Ministers drew the organization in 1980 with the European Human Rights Prize. In 1984, she received the Peace Prize Wateler the Dutch Carnegie Foundation. The Erasmus Prize got ICJ 1989. In 1993 her the Human Rights Award of the United Nations was given.
