International Confederation of Art Cinemas

The Confédération Internationale des Cinemas d'Art et d' Essai ( CICAE ) is a non commercially organized international federation of film art theaters, the campaigns for the promotion and support of the cinematography and the art house sector. History and Facts

Objectives

The self-declared objectives of CICAE exist according to its statutes is to strengthen cooperation among its members and to influence national and international authorities to recognize the art of film industry and support, as well as the circulation and distribution of films, which regards as being of high quality are expanding. Furthermore, the CICAE, special films and the entire cinema industry is trying to gain through cultural initiatives and publications greater popularity.

The CICAE also organizes workshops, which are aimed primarily at film art cinema operators and managers and are intended to provide the know -how to manage art-house cinemas, maintain and implement an adequate program.

Art Cinema Award CICAE Prize

Similarly, the Association of Film Critics FIPRESCI ( FIPRESCI Prize ) is represented with its own cost or CICAE at numerous international film festivals. It awards this Art Cinema Award or CICAE Prize as part of these festivals. These include the Directors' Fortnight in Cannes, the Berlinale International Film Festival in Venice.
