International Defence Exhibition

The International Defence Exhibition & Conference ( IDEX ) is the largest exhibition for national security and defense equipment in the Middle East, which takes place every two years in Abu Dhabi ( United Arab Emirates ). On 14 February 1993, the fair was held for the first time. Compared to 2005, the IDEX has grown in 2007 by 40 percent.

The show is focused on the use of combat systems of offensive and defensive nature. Nevertheless, in addition to the armament factories more companies that are not attributable to this industry find direction. These include in particular companies that produce, for example, protection systems against fire or gas, or companies whose business is logistics.
