International Federation of Cheerleading

The International Federation of Cheerleading (IFC ), the World Federation of Cheerleading, headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

History

Although cheerleading is a typical American sports, he exerted in over 50 countries around the world. In order to focus the global activities outside the United States, with its predominantly commercial organizations, was founded in 1998, the IFC. As of January 2008, 43 national associations connected Cheerleader of the IFC.

Tasks

The IFC strives to make cheerleading outside America not only known, but to obtain that cheerleading is internationally recognized as a sport. In the medium term to ensure that cheerleading is an Olympic sport.

Achievements

The 4th IFC World Cup was awarded in 2007 to Finland and was held in Helsinki.

In 2009, the 5th World Championship in Bremen, Germany took place.

The 6th World Championship was held in 2011 in Hong Kong (SAR China).

The 7th World Championship will be held in Bangkok ( Thailand) in November 2013.

President of the IFC is Setsuo Nakamura from Japan. He is supported by his Vice-President Liudmila Zueva (Russia) and the Vice-President Robert Huber ( Germany ), President of AFVD.
