International Music Festival Český Krumlov

The International Music Festival Český Krumlov ( Mezinárodní hudební festival Český Krumlov ) is a music festival in the Czech Republic, which has been held since 1992 in the months of July and August in various locations in Český Krumlov. The range includes music genres from the 15th to the 21st century. The music festival is a member of the Association of Music Festivals of the Czech Republic.

Dramaturgy

The IMF Český Krumlov is a mehrgenriges music event, which distinguishes it from other festivals in the Czech Republic and appeals to a wider range of target groups. Among the represented genres include opera, symphony concerts and chamber concerts of classical music, jazz, but also folk, world music and rock. The events include cultural evenings, opera gala concerts, recitals and choral concerts. In cooperation with the State Castle and Chateau Český Krumlov offers an experimental baroque performance in the Baroque theater.

Since the existence of the festival occurred soloists of the New York Metropolitan Opera, Milan's La Scala, the Berlin Opera and other opera houses. These included Renée Fleming, Jeanine Thames, Allan Glasman, Eva Urbanová, Janice Taylor, Dagmar Peckova, Misha Maisky, Václav Hudeček, Tracy Dahl, Eugen Indjic, Ivan Moravec, Steven Osborne, Gianfranco Cecchele, Ivan Ženatý, Stepan Rak, Mi -hae Park, Anna Marie Popescu, Gabriela Demeterová Pavel Šporcl and Shlomo Mintz.

Conductors and orchestras

Under the direction of conductor Gerd which Albrecht, Vladimír Válek, Vladimír Askhenazy, Jiri Belohlavek, Ondrej Lenárd or Maxim Shostakovich played the Czech Philharmonic, the Prague Symphony Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of the Czech Radio.

Other Genres

For other musical genres presented in Český Krumlov, the jazz musician Maynard Ferguson, James Morrison, New York Voices. Czechoslovak artists were the brothers Eben, Hradišťan, Elan or Čechomor.

Programme 2010

In 2010, 17 concerts were held at the IMF Český Krumlov, in which three orchestras, chamber orchestras and ensembles, and ten about 24 artists appeared. An opera production was staged in front of the revolving auditorium. The musical spectrum covered baroque, classical, romantic, jazz and musicals. Participants included the tenor José Cura, violinists Gidon Kremer and Vadim Gluzman and trumpeter James Morrison.
