International Organization for a Participatory Society

The International Organization for a Participatory Society ( International Organization for a Participatory Society) (IOPS ) is an organization with the goal of a participatory society. It represents values ​​such as collective self-government, egalitarianism, solidarity, diversity, environmental responsibility and internationalism.

The IOPS was founded in January 2012 and had in 2013 3395 members from 101 countries.

The provisional committee consists of the known members Ezequiel Adamovsky, Michael Albert, Stanley Aronowitz, Elaine Bernard, Patrick Bond, Noam Chomsky, Maya Evans, Eva Golinger, David Graeber, Andrej Grubacic, David Harvey, Pat Korte, John Pilger, Vijay Prashad, Lydia Sargent, Boaventura de Sousa Santos, Steve Shalom, Vandana Shiva, Paul Street and Chico Whitaker.

The IOPS is closely linked to the World Social Forum and the Occupybewegung.
