International Reporter

International Reporter ( IR) (Norwegian: Internasjonal reporter, IR) is a Norwegian non-governmental organization which campaigns for the improvement and extension of the Norwegian media coverage of Africa, Asia and Latin America. The organization promotes international journalistic collaborations, and the use of local contacts.

The organization was founded in 1987 as a forum for development of journalism teachers / inside the Norwegian journalism high school, researchers and journalists. The headquarters of the organization is Oslo, Norway.

International Resource Network

International reporter maintains an English-language database, called the International Resource Network ( IRN) It contains profiles of journalists, photo reporters, researchers, aid workers, local experts and other third-world experts who live locally or extensively with these issues deal. The main target group of the IRN are Norwegian journalists, even if the database can be used by persons who are employed in development aid, in the private sector or in other non-governmental organizations.

Journalism price

The award recognizes Internasjonal reporter Journalistpris a journalistic product based on insightful, surprising and exciting way to an international problem - particularly in Africa, Asia or Latin America - represents. The prize was awarded for the first time in 2010 and went to Inger and Harald Sunde Eraker for Connecting people, a critical documentary about the mobile phone industry, which was broadcast on NRK focal point. Kristin Solberg, Correspondent of Aftenposten in Southeast Asia, received the award in 2011 for her report gjennom de renes country.
