Ion I. Câmpineanu

Ion I. Campineanu ( born October 10, 1841 in Bucharest, † November 15, 1888 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian politician.

Life

Ion I. Ion Campineanu was the son of Ion Campineanu (1798-1863), a prominent participant in the Romanian Revolution of 1848. I. Campineanu belonged to the party Partidul Naţional Liberal and held several political offices. 1877 he has held for several months, the Office of the Attorney General before he took over as head of the Treasury. There followed in 1878 the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs, 1880 again the Minister of Finance and from 1883 he headed the Ministry of Interior. In 1885 he moved again to the Foreign Ministry and ended shortly after his ministers activity. In 1887, he held for a few months, the Office of the Mayor of Bucharest, before he was in 1888 appointed the first governor of the National Bank of Romania. In the same year died Campineanu in Bucharest.
