Ion Luchianov

Ion Luchianov ( born January 31, 1981 in Slobozia- Duşca ) is a Moldovan steeplechaser.

Luchianov Eleventh was at the Track World Junior Championships in 2000 in Santiago de Chile in the obstacle course. During his participation in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005 and the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 2006, he could not qualify for the finals to each.

His first major final at the senior level reached Luchianov at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, where he finished in twelfth place in the obstacle course. In 2009 he won at the Universiade in Belgrade, after he had become in İzmir Second and Third 2007 in Bangkok in 2005. At the World Athletics Championships in Berlin he failed, however, in the flow.

His hitherto major international success came Luchianov by winning the bronze medal at the European Athletics Championships 2010 in Barcelona. Originally, he had reached the goal in fourth, but moved in the standings by one rank after the third-placed Spaniard José Luis Blanco had been disqualified for doping. At the World Athletics Championships 2011 in Daegu Luchianov was eighth. The following year, he came at the European Championships in Helsinki in eleventh place and at the Olympic Games in London in tenth.
