Ionuţ Ţăran

Ionut Dorin Taran ( born April 8, 1987 in Topliţa, Harghita County ) is a Romanian luger.

Ionut Taran lives in SARMAS and toboggan since 1999. He drives along with Cosmin Chetroiu in doubles. Since the season 2005/ 06 the duo in the Luge World Cup takes. In their first season they finished with the 16th rank in Altenberg her best ever result in a World Cup race. In the overall standings, they reached with number 23 also her best previous result. The first major event, which was attended by the double was the Luge Championships 2006 in Winterberg. Here they were ranked number 18 in the doubles competition and ninth place in the team competition. For shortly afterwards held the Olympic Games in Turin they could be re- 18. In the Luge World Cup 2007 in Igls Chetroiu / Taran came in 25th place and at the Olympic Games in Vancouver on 17th place
