The Synagogue in Josefov ( Romanian Sinagoga din Iosefin ) is a synagogue in the Strada Iuliu Maniu No. 55 in the District IV Iosefin ( German Josefstadt ) of the western city of Timisoara ( Timisoara German ).

History

The synagogue was built between 1906 and 1910 in the Moorish style, and is the youngest and last of the three active synagogues of the Jews still living in Timişoara. In the census of 2002 367 Jewish residents were determined in the city. The municipality belongs to the faith of Orthodox Judaism. In the courtyard of the synagogue, a primary school and a kindergarten is operated.
