Irapuato is a city in the Mexican state of Guanajuato. It was founded in 1547 and is located 1,724 meters above sea level. Your indigenous name comes from the Tarasco, meaning " marshy place ". In Irapuato was founded in the 18th century, one of the first girls boarding schools in Mexico.

The city is an important industrial and commercial center. In addition, Irapuato is located in an important agricultural region. The approximately 380,000 inhabitants, is known nationwide because of growing strawberries in their region.
