Irmgard of Berg

Irmgard of Berg ( * no later than 1204; . † 11 -13 August 1248 or 1249 ) was the daughter of Count Adolf III. Berg and his wife Bertha.

History

It is not known how many children Adolf III. had. Probably Irmgard of Berg was his only, but at least the only surviving child of his death, for it was no later than 1216 Duke Henry of Limburg married to whom she the county mountain zuführte as heiress. You must take into account an early marriage Adolf III. no later than 1204 to be born. Live Irmgard is last attested in the October 1247. After the death of Duke Henry in 1246 their son Adolf IV took over the regency for the county mountain. In a contract between her and the son of the "16 Broke month in 1247, " her rightful possessions were listed in the county mountain until her death in 1247/48. Her son Adolf donated her on January 2, 1250 at August 13, one years memory. In Memorienbüchern anniversary of her death is, however, mentioned in the 11th and 12th August.

In 1216 Archbishop considered Engelbert I of Cologne (also known as the Holy Engelbert ) and his brother Adolf III. to divorce for political reasons under the guise of a too close relationship between marriage and Irmgard Heinrich. Both were in fact related in the 4th degree with each other.
