Irshad Panjatan
Irshad Panjatan ( born September 7, 1931 in Hyderabad ) is an Indian- German actor and mime.
Life
Panjatan was born in 1931 in Hyderabad, the second youngest of seven children of an upper middle and socially committed family. His brother Abid Hussain was a renowned economist and diplomat. Irshad Panjatan showed an early interest in the theater, but still only completed an apprenticeship as an aircraft mechanic. In New Delhi, he came into contact with the renowned Hindustani Theatre, and in Bombay with the pantomime art. He first came mainly as a solo artist, but worked from 1965 in Indian films. Panjatan moved to Germany and lives in Berlin, where he for decades operated a school pantomime with his German wife and their daughter since the 1970s. Known to a wider public in 2001 he was for his role as Shoshone chief " Wily Lurch " in the Western parody of the Vampires. Other roles in film and television followed.
