Irvine Lake

(Formerly called Santiago Reservoir ) Irvine Lake is a reservoir associated to Irvine in Orange County, south of Los Angeles in the United States. Water is dammed the Santiago Creek, a left tributary of the Santa Ana River. The lake is located in the northeast of Irvine near Irvine Regional Park, on the northeast side of the lake begins the Cleveland National Forest. After construction of the dam at the northern end (1929-1931), the lake was filled in 1931 with water, then different species of fish were (among catfish and largemouth bass ) exposed and 1941 the lake was opened to the public. Today the lake the water supply of the area but mainly as especially among anglers popular recreation area serving.
