Irving R. Levine

Irving R. Levine ( born August 26, 1922 in Pawtucket, Rhode Iceland, † 27 March 2009) was an American journalist, television presenter and author.

Life

Levine grew up in Pawtucket in a Jewish family. He studied at Brown University and the Columbia University School of Journalism. After graduation he worked for the International News Service. From 1950 he worked as a freelancer and then as a correspondent for NBC. As a foreign correspondent, he was stationed in Moscow, Rome, Vienna and Berlin. Among other things, he reported on the construction of the Berlin Wall. From 1971 to 1995 he worked as a television presenter for NBC News. As an author, Levine wrote several books. In 1995 he was dean of Lynn University 's School of International Communication in Boca Raton, Florida. Levine was married to Nancy Cartmell Jones and had three children.
