Isaac Leet

Isaac Leet (* 1801 in Washington, Pennsylvania, † June 10, 1844 ) was an American politician. Between 1839 and 1841 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Isaac Leet attended the public schools of his home and then to 1822 the local Washington College. After a subsequent law degree in 1826 and its recent approval as a lawyer, he began in his hometown of Washington to work in this profession. Between 1826 and 1830, Leet eunuchs in Washington County; 1830 to 1834, he served there as a deputy prosecutor. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic Party. From 1834 to 1838 he was a member of the Senate of Pennsylvania.

In the congressional elections of 1838, Leet was the 21st electoral district of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Thomas McKennan on March 4, 1839. Since he has not been confirmed in 1840, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1841. After his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Leet is not politically more have appeared. He died on June 10, 1844 in Washington.
