Isakhel

Isa Khel is a small historic town in the province of Punjab in Pakistan. It is named after a famous leader of the Niazis, Isa Khan, who served as a general under Sher Shah Suri. Isa Khan's Mausoleum is a classical monument of his time is preserved and can be visited in New Delhi.

Isa Khel was originally the capital of the district of Bannu. With the elimination of the North West Frontier Province ( Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since 2010 ) in 1901 came as Bannu district there, while Isa Khel remained in the former province of Punjab and the newly formed Mianwali District was assigned.

Isa Khel is the capital of Isa Khel sub- tribe of Niazi - Pashtuns. His head bears the title Khan and was referred to the period of British rule as Nawab.
