Isilkulsky District

The Issilkulski rayon (Russian Исилькульский район ) is a raion in the West Siberian Omsk Oblast in Russia.

The Rajon covers an area of nearly 2800 km ² in the western part of the oblast and has 43 424 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ). These belong mainly to the following ethnic groups: 79.7 % Russians, 8.5% Kazakhs, 7.0% German Russia (including Russian Mennonites ) and 2.1% Ukrainians. Chelyabinsk - Omsk - By Raion of the southern branch of the Trans-Siberian Railway runs Samara. Administrative center is the city Issilkul, in which about two-thirds of the population live. The Rajon existed since 1925.
