The Islamic University College of Ghana (German Islamic University of Ghana) (short: IUCG ) in East Legon, Accra is a University College, which is affiliated to the University of Ghana and the Islamic College for Advanced Studies in London. It is the first Islamic university in West Africa south of the Sahara.

History

Began early in 1988 to today's IUCG under the former name of Ahlul Bait Islamic School first courses in Islamic theology. Supported and funded this training center was developed by the Ahlul Bait Foundation of Iran. In 2001, the approval as University College was initially granted provisionally, followed in 2002 by the final approval.

Objectives

The objectives of the IUCG include the training of men and women according to Islamic values ​​to leading positions in Ghana and particularly the Islamic society in Ghana to take. Religious understanding and dialogue between religions should be encouraged. For the administration, banking, the economy and the Law Professions young people to be trained and act in accordance with Islamic values ​​.

Faculties

The IUCG has already established two faculties: The Faculty of Business Administration Bachelor in Business Administration can be purchased. In the Faculty of Religious Studies, a Bachelor are stored in Islamic religious studies.
