Ismail al-Faruqi

Isma'il Raji al - Faruqi (Arabic إسماعيل راجي الفاروقي / Ismā ʿ al - Faruqi īl Rāǧī; * 1921 in Jaffa, Palestine, † 1986 in Wyncote, Pennsylvania, United States) was a scholar of Islam and comparative religion scholars. He taught Islamic studies at the " Institute of Islamic Studies" at McGill University ( Montreal ), at the Central Institute of Islamic Research (Karachi ), at the Institute of Higher Arabic Studies of the League of Arab States (Cairo ) and at Syracuse University. He was a professor of Islamic Studies / Religious Studies at Temple University in Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, USA). He studied at the American University of Beirut, at Indiana University and at Harvard University. After his doctorate, he worked at Al- Azhar University in Cairo (in the range Islam) and at McGill University in Montreal (in the range Christianity and Judaism ).

He was one of the Senior Fellows of the Royal Aal al - Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought ( Royal Aal al - Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought ), Jordan.
