Isobel Black

Isobel Black ( * December 15 1943 in Edinburgh ) is a Scottish actress, internationally known for her roles in two films of the British Hammer production company.

Life

Isobel Black is the daughter of actress Ann Brooke and screenwriter Ian Stuart Black. The entertainment industry was from the beginning a part of Isobel Black's life, the age of 15 she began itself with acting and appeared in episodes of the television series Invisible Man and Sir Francis Drake of the production company ITC on, for her father has revised the screenplays. The good relations of her family helped her also to a role at Regent 's Park Open Air Theatre, as a Miranda in William Shakespeare's The Tempest, in which a friend of the family served as producer.

In the following years helped her many small roles on television at a certain notoriety in the UK. In 1962 it was the recurring role in the hospital drama Emergency Ward 10 as Lucy Marsden, who made hammer attention to it. She got the role of Tanya in the 1963 published The Kiss of the Vampire.

Black continued to play regularly in television roles, such as in an episode of The Avengers and melon and 1967 in the role of Eileen O'Rourke in Trouble Shooters. This was the role that she gained the greatest notoriety in their home country. During the filming, she met the director and producer James Gatward, whom she married in September 1969.

In 1971 she played the role of Ingrid Hoffer in Dracula's witch hunt. Even though it was a small role, then this is because already responsible their second hammer production, for its current cult status as "Hammer Hottie ".

1970 Isobel Black played the role of Margaret Trelawny in the episode The Curse of the Mummy Mystery and Imagination of the television series based on the novel The Seven Finger of Death (Original Title: Jewel of the Seven Stars ) by Bram Stoker based. It plays a dual role as the reincarnation of an Egyptian princess. Random Hammer produced simultaneously the film The grave of the bloody mummy, which is based on the same template. In the version of Hammer Valerie Leon Blacks plays role.

In the seventies, Black took a break from acting and had three daughters. Since she, together with her father and husband for television broadcasts produced at that time, she took the opportunity and undertook extensive travels with her family to advertise abroad for investment. They rarely took on a role in one of these productions themselves.

In the eighties she performed more frequently on television, but not as successful as in previous years. She played her last role as Aunt Jane so far in the series The Castle of Adventure.

After a long pause Black worked in 2004 to a radio broadcast of the BBC.
