Isobel Cooper

Isobel Cooper ( stage name Izzy, born January 24, 1975 in Much Wenlock in Shropshire, England) is a British soprano and pop singer.

Life

Isobel Cooper grew up in Shropshire Much Wenlock. She went to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and studied singing there. At the age of 23 years Izzy was taken in 1998 on Decca Records. With Blondie producer Craig Leon, she went into the Abbey Road studios where their debut album " Libera Me " was created, which was released in 1999 and # 1 on the UK Classical Charts was. The following year she was at the Classical BRIT Awards for "Female Artist of the Year " nominee, losing to Martha Argerich.

Izzy signed in 2000 a contract with Virgins Records and took in the same year with producer Craig Leon on their second album " Ascolta " that his successor " New Dawn " from 2002 # 1 on the UK Classical Charts was. Especially in Japan and the Middle East Izzy had a large following and there were numerous concerts. Other artists were aware of them and they worked at that time, among other things with Cliff Richard, Helmut Lotti, Lionel Richie and Atomic Kitten together and went with Bryan Ferry on tour. The album " Izzy " from the year 2003 was published only in the U.S. and contained, among other things the duet " The Prayer " with the American tenor Daniel Rodriguez.

A new audience Izzy 2004 became known when they released the dance single " Now We Are Free". With the remix of the title song from the movie Gladiator, it reached # 1 on the UK dance charts and number 19 on the UK Singles Charts. A second dance number Izzy was the single " Eternity", which was released in 2006.
