Isobel Elsom

Isobel Elsom ( born March 16, 1893 in Cambridge, England as Isobel Jeannette Reed, † 12 January 1981 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, United States) was a British actress.

Life and achievements

Her career began in 1911 at the theater. Four years later, Isobel Elsom made ​​her film debut. The greatest success of her career she had with the film Monsieur Verdoux - The Strangler Paris, as a partner of Charles Chaplin. In the late 1930s, the actress enjoyed great success on Broadway. In 1964, she finally retired into private life.

Isobel Elsom was married in first marriage with the director Maurice Elvey, and from 1942 until his death in 1958 with actor Carl Harbord.
