István Hevesi

István Hevesi ( born April 2, 1931 in Eger ) is a former Hungarian water polo player.

István Hevesi played 73 international matches for Hungary. He was with the Hungarian water polo team, 1956 Olympic champion and won bronze at the Games in 1960. 1954 and 1958 Hevesi became European Champion with the Hungarian team.

After 1956, the Hungarian national uprising was brutally suppressed, Hevesi was one of the six players who returned to the Olympics in 1956 immediately after Hungary. But in 1958 he was back in the Hungarian team.
