István Sándorfi

István Sándorfi (French Étienne Sandorfi; born June 12, 1948 in Budapest, † December 26, 2007 in Paris) was a player in France Hungarian painter of hyperrealism.

Life

First, the family of Sándorfi lived in Hungary and went a few days before the Hungarian national uprising to Austria in 1956. From there they moved first to Germany in 1958 to France. At the age of eight years Sándorfi began drawing at the age of twelve years with oil paints.

He studied both at the École nationale supérieure des arts Décoratifs and the École nationale supérieure des beaux -arts de Paris.

Sándorfi disease died after 26 December 2007 and was buried according to his wishes in Budapest. He has two daughters: Ange ( b. 1974 ) and Eve ( b. 1979 ).

Artistic activity

In the 1970s, he produced works for which he himself was the model because he did not like it, to be observed by others during work. His first exhibition was held in a small gallery in Paris, in 1973 the first major exhibition in the Musée d' Sándorfis de la Ville de Paris was art modern organized. Later, his work has been exhibited in museums in the most different countries, such as in the cities of Copenhagen, Rome, Munich, Brussels, Basel, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
