Iurie Darie

Darie Lurie ( born March 14, 1929 in Vadul Rascov, Soroca, † November 9, 2012 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian actor who was known by several DEFA film productions, but especially by the DEFA Indian films.

Life

After his studies at the Institute of Fine Arts and the Theater and Film Arts Institute in Bucharest ( IATC ), where he was trained, among others, Mihai Popescu and Marietta Sadova, followed in 1953 his film debut in Nepoţii gornistului directed by Dinu Negreanu. It was followed by numerous national films, including the renowned Romanian film director Ion Popescu Gopo -. In the 1970s he played with in GDR film productions for DEFA as 1970 signals - A Space Adventure. But he gained notoriety primarily for his involvement in the so-called DEFA Indian films, such as Osceola, Severino, or the movie Sing, Cowboy, Sing from the year 1981.

Daries passion was also the stage on which he was seen for the Bucharest comic theater even after the revolution, and active in numerous roles; for children's programs of the Romanian television he worked.

In 2009 he was awarded the prize of Festivalul Comediei romanesti, in the year of his death Premiul Gopo.
