Ivan Engler (director)

Ivan Engler (born 1971 in Winterthur, Switzerland ) is a Swiss film director.

Life

Ivan Engler visited by study beginnings of Biology and Medicine, the University of Art and Design Zurich ( HGKZ ). During this time he was active as a visual jockey, among others, the Swiss trip-hop band Swandive and the sporting event freestyle.ch. After college degree in 2000 with a degree in film designer, he founded the production company visualscience.net, for services in the fields of visual effects and post-production. His diploma film " Nomina Domini " received several international prizes and awards, including the " Best Foreign Short Film" at the Semana Internacional de Cine Fantástico Malaga and for " Best Cinematography ". Since 2007 he works also as a creative director.

As early as 2001 he began to work on his 2009 published fiction film " Cargo ", the first science fiction film produced in Switzerland.
