Ivan Podyomov

Ivan Mikhailovich Podjomow (Russian: Иван Михайлович Подъёмов, usually transcribed as Ivan Podyomov born April 29, 1986 in Arkhangelsk, Soviet Union ) is a Russian oboist.

Life

He began his musical training at the prestigious Moscow Gnessin Academy of Music with a recorder studies with Ivan Puschetschnikow, in which up to his graduation in 2003 he studied oboe from 1996. Since 2006 Ivan Podjomow studied at the Conservatory in Geneva with Maurice Bourgue.

He has performed with various orchestras such as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the Collegium Musicum Basel, the Potsdam Chamber Academy, the Pilsen Philharmonic, the Philharmonic Neubrandenburg and the Hofer Symphoniker. As a soloist and chamber musician Ivan Podjomow a guest at renowned houses throughout Europe, such as the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Rudolfinum Prague, the Hercules Hall and the Prince Regent Theatre in Munich. He played at numerous music festivals including the Prague Spring, the Brandenburg Summer Concerts, the German Chamber Music Festival, the Music Festival Nymphenburg summer and take pictures of broadcasters in Germany, Czech Republic and Russia. In addition, Ivan Podjomow is regularly invited as guest principal with orchestras such as the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra or the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, the Russian Philharmonic.

Prizes and awards

Ivan Podjomow won numerous prizes and music competitions: At age eleven, he was the first recipient of the Young Musicians Competition of Moscow on Russian television. In 1998 he was winner of the Moscow Young Oboists Competition and the Moscow Woodwind Ensemble Competition and the youngest laureate in the competition Concertino Praga. In 2005 he won the first prize at the International Rimsky -Korsakov Competition in St. Petersburg.

He is the second winner of the ARD International Music Competition in 2007 and 2011 in Munich, winner of the International Music Competition of the Prague Spring Festival in 2008 and the International Oboe Competition in Karuizawa 2009. Moreover, he was honored with special awards from the Foundation Pro Harmonia Mundi and the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation. In 2010 Podjomow received the Audience Award at the International Music Competition Concours de Genève.
