Ivan Putski

Ivan Putski, bourgeois Joseph Bednarski (* April 21, 1941 in Krakow, General ) is a former Polish professional wrestlers and weightlifters. Bednarksi is married and has two sons, one of whom, as Scott Putski, is also active in wrestling. Putski was WWF World Tag Team Champion and a member of the WWE Hall of Fame since 1995.

Career

Bednarski was born in Poland. As a small child he came with his family to the United States. They settled in Texas, where Putski later began his wrestling career.

Big Time Wrestling

On February 9, 1970 already allowed Bednarski, under the ring name Ivan Putski to defeat with Jose Lothario the team Brute Bernard and Missouri Mauler and keep the NWA American Tag Team titles. In 1973 he was also the NWA Texas Tag Team Championship twice. Mid-1974, he joined the American Wrestling Association. With his background as a strength trainer Bednarski fully introduced its fighting force frequently demonstrations and he got the nickname " Polish Power ".

WWWF / WWF

Bednarski Ivan Putski debuted in 1976 in the World Wide Wrestling Federation ( WWWF ). There he feuded with wrestlers such as Bruiser Brody, Stan Hansen and Ivan Koloff. On June 25, 1976, he defeated Baron Mikel Scicluna at Showdown at Shea. His biggest success in the WWWF was winning the WWWF World Tag Team Championship, which he won jointly with Tito Santana on October 22, 1979 against Johnny and Jerry Valiant. They held the title for six months and finally lost him to the Wild Samoans.

In the 1980s, his playing career was coming to an end. In May 1981, he won his last tag team title, the SWCW World Tag Team Championship, with Wahoo McDaniel against Dory Funk, Jr. and Larry Lane. On January 23, 1982, he was still able to record a win against Ron Shaw at a WWF show in Hamburg. In November 1985, he finished his career with the WWF.

WWF

In November 1987 he returned to the WWF and was defeated by Dan Spivey in a WWF Legends Battle Royal. 1995 Bednarski was collected by his son, Scott, in the WWF Hall of Fame. 1997 Putskis and Lawler had another short feud against each other, the " father - and -son team" in July 1997, competed against each other and the Putskis remained victorious.

Strong Man competitions

Bednarski participated frequently in the so-called Strong Man competitions. Among other things he was doing at the 1978 World's Strongest Man contest.

Bednarski has played a role in the movie The Wrestling Queen 1975.

Private

Currently lives Bednarski in Austin, Texas. There he works as a security guard at the Jack Hays High School.
