Ivan Vicelich

Ivan Vicelich ( born September 3, 1976 in Auckland ) is a New Zealand soccer player with Croatian roots. He is also a national team of his country.

Career

His career began in 1994 at Vicelich Waitakere City, 1997, he moved to Central United. From 1999 to 2001 he played for the New Zealand top club The Football Kingz in the National Soccer League. In the summer of 2001, he finally moved to the Netherlands to Roda JC Kerkrade, for which he completed 129 games in five years. From 2006 to 2008 he played for RKC Waalwijk, before returning to New Zealand and Auckland City FC joined. As captain of Auckland he led the team to the New Zealand championship title and to win the OFC Champions League 2008 /09.

With the New Zealand national football team won the 1998 and 2002 Vicelich the OFC Nations Cup. He also took part in the Confederations Cups in 1999 and 2003. Since 1995, the midfielder played 82 matches, scoring seven goals. After Vicelich in August 2008 announced his retirement from international football, he returned as a substitute for the injured Ryan Nelsen for the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup back in the national team. Even at the football World Cup in 2010, he was part of the squad.
