Ivica Grlić [ iʋitsa gr̩litɕ ] ( born August 6 1975 in Munich ) is a former Bosnian Herzegovinian footballer and current football official.

Career

He played in his youth at Bayern Munich and TSV 1860 Munich. His professional career began in 1997 at Grlić SC Fortuna Köln, then moved in 2000 to local rivals 1.FC Cologne to go only a year later for Alemannia Aachen. With Aachen, he was in 2004 in the DFB Cup final against Werder Bremen.

Since 2004, the midfielder played for MSV Duisburg. Since the beginning of the season 2007/2008 he was captain of MSV Duisburg, but was replaced at the beginning of the season 2009/2010 by Björn silts and was under coach Peter Neururer no more regulars. In October 2011 he had to end his career due to a knee injury.

On 3 September 2007 Grlić resigned from the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for which he had played 16 games to date. In qualifying for the 2008 European Championships Grlić had only two missions recorded (both in October 2006 at the draw in Moldova and in the home defeat against Greece).

Because of its great popularity at the Duisburg audience, it is the stated desire of the association to involve Grlić even after his active career in the association's work. He has worked both as a player and as team manager of MSV Duisburg as early as the 2010/2011 season. His contract was extended until 2013. During the season 2011/2012 Grlic announced that he must end his career due to persistent problems with his knee. He will continue to work as a team manager for the club.
