Øivind Bolstad

Øivind Bolstad ( born 1 February 1905 in Vardo, † May 7, 1979 ) was a Norwegian writer. Although he also wrote radio plays as well as show and poems, but is primarily known for his novels. Bolstad also published under the pseudonyms Theo Eikan and Martin Eden.

Life

Bolstad was the son of a lawyer. He grew up in Bergen, where he attended the Commercial School, and then worked as a clerk and writer. He first published short stories and radio plays, 1938, the spectacle of patriots, which was, however, only premiered in 1946. Some of his later works have been translated into German, including the novel The profiteer, in the Bolstad deals with the cooperation of business with the Nazis, as well as the satirical novel The Testament of old Winckel. Bolstad published dag of the Norwegian Communist Party, among others, at the publisher Ny.

Bolstad in 1973 was awarded the Doblougpreis.
