Iwindo

Iwindo was named after the eponymous, now located on the territory of Gabon River district of the German colony of Cameroon, who was lying mostly in the acquired in 1911 by the Morocco -Congo agreement Neukamerun. Seat of administration was Minkebe.

The German Inverwaltungnahme was carried out by the summer of 1912 in Yaoundé newly formed 12th Company of the Imperial Colonial Army for Cameroon under the direction of Captain Theodore of Heigelin. The previously associated with Altkamerun Post Akoafim area was separated from the district Ebolowa and combined with the effective range of the 11th Company By Gouvernementsverfügung of 17 January 1913. Heigelin transferred the powers of administration for the district.

Location of the company was initially located on the formerly French territory military post Ngarabinsam; in April 1914 the administrative headquarters was moved to Akoafim, shortly before the outbreak of the First World War by Minkebe.
