Geography
Geographical location
The city is located in south-eastern Poland, approximately 20 kilometers north of the state border of Poland to Slovakia in the Low Beskids.
History
The first permanent settlement on the site of the present Iwonicz- Zdrój built in the 14th century, the first written record comes from the year 1413., The Conditioning of a village under German law took place in the 15th century. 1464 a wooden church was built. 1624 were the Tartars in the area.
Municipal law was the place in 1973.
Culture and sights
Structures
- Worth seeing is the parish church, which was built in 1895.
- The palace dates back to 1838. He served as a summer residence for the owner of the place.
- The old bath was built in 1838. Between 1984 and 1987 the building was extensively renovated.
- The Dom Zdrojowy ( Health House ) was built in 1860 as a hotel and restaurant.
Community
The urban and rural community Iwonicz- Zdrój has an area of 45.49 km ², of which about 11,000 people live. Besides the city Iwonicz- Zdrój still includes the villages Iwonicz, Lubatowa and Lubatówka to the community.
