Izabella Teixeira

Izabella Mônica Teixeira Vieira ( born October 9, 1961 in Brasília ) is a Brazilian politician. Since 1 April 2010, it counts as the successor of Carlos Minc, Brazil's environment minister under tree field Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Dilma Rousseff then. Prior to her appointment as Minister, she was Secretary of State at the same place.

Teixeira studied biology at the University of Brasília; she earned a master's degree in energy planning and a doctorate in environmental planning at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. On September 24, 2012, she was appointed by UN Secretary General Ban Ki -moon to participate in the High - Level Panel of Eminent Persons on the post -2015 development agenda.
