Izadkhvast

Izadkhast also Izad khast (Persian ایزدخواست ) is a city in the province of Fārs in Iran. It is located in the district of Abadeh.

The Izadkhast complex is located about 135 km south of Isfahan. It consists of the same fortress, a caravanserai and a bridge from Safavid period. The structure of the fort is of particular interest because it combines several different architectural styles, ranging from the Sassanid period up to the time of the Qajar. Also, the architectural style of the fortress is unique and can be compared with similar buildings in Yazd and Kermān only in terms of the building materials used. The location on a bedrock offered to build long protection against attacks.

In August 2007, the site for the list of UNESCO world heritage has been proposed.
