Jacek BÄ…k

Jacek Bąk [ jatsɛk bɔŋk ] ( born March 24, 1973 in Lublin, Poland ) is a former Polish footballer, who also has French citizenship since 2004.

Career

The defender Jacek Bąk began his career in his hometown at Motor Lublin. At age 16 he made his debut in the first team and was already 18 years old regulars. In 1992 he moved to Lech Poznan, where he was in his first season Polish champion. In 1995 he moved to French giants Olympique Lyon. He played six years here, had at this time, however, often injury problems. However, he came to 114 inserts for Lyon. In 2001 he moved to RC Lens. With Lens he had, as well as with Lyon, appearances in the UEFA Champions League. In 2005 he moved to Qatar with Al- Rayyan Sports Club. For the season 2007/ 08 he moved to Austrian club FK Austria Wien. He signed there for two years. After the 2009/10 season he finished in second place in the championship his active football career.

Jacek Bąk denied a total of 96 caps for the Polish national football team, scoring three goals. His first game he played on February 1, 1993. He was also a long time the captain of the national team. He was in the squad of the Football World Cup 2002 and the FIFA World Cup 2006, as well as at the European Football Championship 2008.

Caused a stir a statement Bąk gained after the European Championship qualifier in Belgium on 15 November 2006, when he said in an interview that he, by Belgium 10,000 - had been offered € when he fouled a Belgian player in the penalty area. The Belgian Football Association reviewed the allegations of corruption, but came to no final result, so that the investigations have been set.

In August 2008 Bąk ended his career in the national team.
