Jack Miles

John R. "Jack" Miles ( born 1942 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American theologian, biblical and literary scholars.

Life

In the 1960s and 1970s, Jack Miles attended several seminars at the Jesuit Xavier University of Cincinnati, the Pontifical Gregorian University and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, before he received his Ph.D. in Near Eastern Languages ​​and Literature from Harvard University in 1971. He then worked for several years as a journalist and editor, among other things, by Doubleday, The Los Angeles Times and the Times. He currently teaches at the University of California, Irvine.

Miles is with God: A Biography and Christ: A Crisis in the Life of God, each of which was translated into several languages, the author of two biblical books. For the former, 1996, he was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for Best Biography.
