Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey

Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey is an American jazz band that was founded in 1994 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The band with the ironical title Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey ( JFJO, none of the band members say Jacob Fred ), relates in her music influences from jazz, rock music and radio on; the models range from Miles Davis ( electric phase) and Jimi Hendrix to Sun Ra, John Coltrane, Cecil Taylor, Larry Young and John Scofield. Founded JFJO in February 1994 in Tulsa by Brian Haas (keyboards, piano) and Reed Mathis (bass ), both of which had experienced a classical musician training and the core of the group was until Mathis left the group in 2009. 1995 saw the debut album, Live at the Lincoln Continental, followed by Live in Tokyo (1996).
