Jacob Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey

Jacob (Jake ) Okanka Obetsebi - Lamptey ( born February 4, 1946 in Accra ) is a politician and former TV and radio producer and presenter in Ghana. In the administration of President John Agyekum Kufuor, he was between 2005 and July 2007, Minister of Tourism and relations with the Diaspora (Minister of Tourism & Diasporean Relations ). Previously, he had been since 2002 Minister of Tourism and the modernization of the center of the capital until 2005. He joined July 31, 2007 down from his ministerial position to become the New Patriotic Party (NPP ) in the 2008 presidential election as the candidate available.

Obetsebi - Lamptey visited Accra in elementary school and went for further education to Britain.

Until 1996 he worked as a writer of scripts, as a commentator and presenter on radio and television in GBC (Ghana Broadcasting Corporation). Then he became a radio and television producer to Lintas West Africa, an advertising firm. In 1971, he was responsible for the campaign of family planning (Family Planning ) for Lintas in Ghana.

Between 1984 and 1999 he also worked for the World Health Organization ( WHO). He is president of the Association for Advertising ( Advertising Association ) in Ghana. In the parliamentary elections in 2000, he was responsible in the position as National Campaign Manager as adman for the election campaign of the New Patriotic Party (NPP ). The father of Jacob Okanka Obetsebi - Lamptey was one of the leaders of the British colony of the Gold Coast and co-founder of the United Gold Coast Convention, Emmanuel Obetsebi - Lamptey.
