Work

Ter Velduis ' compositions can be roughly divided into two categories: on the one hand, there are classic embossed chamber music and orchestral works, on the other its so -called Boombox music. It is music for solo instruments or ensembles that come along with electronically recorded sounds to the performance. For this purpose he uses the Boombox, a popular in the 80s of the 20th century portable CD player, who played a major role in the urban youth culture of the time. Ter Veldhuis processed so among other authentic language material from television documentaries and interviews. Ter Veldhuis criticized the prevailing in contemporary classical music dissonant compositions and writes mostly consonant, harmonious music. He describes his music as " avant pop".
